Francis is Professor of Work and Education Economics at UCL Institute of Education where he works in the Centre for Learning and Life Chances in Knowledge Economies and Societies (LLAKES) and in the Centre for Global Higher Education.
Especially since the surge in university and college enrolments around 1990, Britain's workforce has become very much more educated.
